Acne

Acne is a common inflammatory skin condition that many of us will experience at some point in our lives. It can be caused by many factors including excess oil production, poor cell turnover, acne-causing bacteria and environmental factors such as stress and hormonal changes.

We will prescribe you a personalised compound cream consisting of prescription-only active ingredients that have decades of evidence for treating acne, and then preventing future breakouts. To treat acne, we’ll often use the following: 

  • Tretinoin: A derivative of Vitamin A, it works by increasing the turnover of new skin cells which intern increases the removal of dead skin cells, oil and debris from blocked pores. 

  • Clindamycin: An antibiotic compound which helps to treat the common bacteria that thrive on acne prone skin

  • Adapalene: An anti-inflammatory which reduces inflammation caused by bacteria to help prevent future breakouts and clogged pores
